The city of Da Nang is intimately linked to the history of the French presence in Vietnam. It is indeed in this bay that the Franco-Spanish troops led by Admiral Rigault de Genouilly and Colonel Langerote landed in 1858. During the colonial period, Da Nang was a leading port.
