In the extreme south of Laos, near the Cambodian border, the Mekong creates an infinite number of small islands with diverse landscapes called the “4 000 Islands” or “Si Phan Don” in Lao language. The area of Siphandone is known for its waterfalls, all equally impressive. Khone Pha Pheng, Khone Pha Soi or Liphi are our favorites. Siphandone also has several great places to swim, Don Det, Don Khong and Don Khone are the most visited. Discover the traditional means of producing local food: rice farming, fishing and breeding of aquatic products.
Nature lovers should spend two to three days discovering the local daily life. Here time stands still. Watching fishermen or young people going to school by boat, the best way to reflect on yourself and learn to enjoy here and now.
