Often forgotten in favor of its grand-sister Ha Long Bay, however, Lan Ha Bay has many advantages. Less crowded by tourists, prices are lower and this site enjoys great beauty with many karst peaks and floating villages. Just like at Ha Long, you can embark on a small boat for a ride for several hours to admire the islets of the bay (which even shelters seals and three species of dolphins!). A magical place to discover.
Best time for a cruise trip on Lan Ha Bay
Lan Ha Bay has the same climate to Ha Long Bay. The rainy season in summer (from June to September) and the cool season in winter (from November to March).

From March to the end of May: First good period for a trip on Lan Ha: good weather, cool and sunny. The average temperature is 27°C and blue sky.
From June to the end of September: storm season. It is often hot but beautiful except at times when tropical storms attack the coast.
