Mai Chau
Mai Châu is a charming valley dominated by Thais. We highly recommend that you take a short excursion to the surrounding villages and enjoy its landscapes. The highlights of the valley are its wild nature and the colorful clothes of its ethnic minorities: Thai, Hmong, Muong, Dzao ... The panoramic views over the villages and valleys are also breathtaking.

You will leave Hanoi in the morning heading northwest towards Hang Kia. From Hoa Binh, the road winds through valleys cultivated by the Muong ethnic group. Near Mai Chau, you will enter the Thai Blancs region. Lunch with the locals in Mai Chau Valley, then short transfer to Pa Co village, where you will start a 2.5-hour walk to Hang Kia village, inhabited by the Hmong. This pretty village is located in a beautiful valley where the Hmong grow corn, tea, plum trees and peach trees. Dinner and overnight at the resident.

After breakfast and a path climbs gently, you will suddenly enter the jungle frequented only by hunters and climbers in search of dry wood. Go down a staircase with its high and slippery steps. Later, you will cross the rice paddies before finding the white Thais. Count about 6 hours of walking. Dinner and overnight with the family in a house on stilts in Ban Buoc.
Walking: 6 hours/20km B, L, D in homestay
After breakfast, a short transfer will take you to Cau Te. From here you will start a leisurely hike that passes through Thai villages at the foot of the Pu Poc mountain range and then a large tropical forest covered with beautiful greenery. The walk will take you to Ban Te, a Thai village unknown to travelers. Stop for lunch with a Thai family. In the afternoon you will drive through a bamboo forest before reaching Na Meo village where your driver will be waiting for you. Return to Mai Chau.
Car: 20km Walking: 4-5 hours B, L in homestay
Breakfast at the locals, then cycle on the small quiet countryside roads of Mai Chau to explore Chieng Sai, Cha, Cha Long, Na Tang, Tong Dau villages. This ecological means of transport will allow you to enter the hinterland, to discover an authentic countryside. You will be fascinated by the warm welcome of the Thai people, who show their smiling faces from their traditional dwellings on stilts, or from the surrounding landscapes made of vegetable gardens and bamboo forests.
Lunch at home of Mr Cuong with typical dishes of Thai ethnicity. In the afternoon, transfer to Hanoi.
